Pest Control In Dundas
Dundas, known as the Valley Town, sits at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment at the western end of Lake Ontario, surrounded by the Dundas Valley Conservation Area and waterfalls like Webster's Falls and Tew's Falls. It was incorporated in 1847, joined the City of Hamilton in 2001 and is home to about 24,000 people. Its historic downtown has 19th century architecture, including the Collins Hotel, which opened in 1841. Ridge Pest Control serves homes and businesses throughout Dundas.
Common Pest Issues In Dundas
The valley setting is beautiful, and it also keeps things damp and green. Carpenter ants take advantage of moisture in older wood, spiders thrive on homes surrounded by trees, and wasps nest in eaves and fences through late summer. Older homes and downtown buildings give mice plenty of ways in once the weather cools.
Blacklegged ticks are present in parts of Hamilton, though the risk remains low, so yards close to the conservation area, trails and wooded slopes are worth treating where kids and pets spend time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I see so many carpenter ants in Dundas?
Mature trees and damp conditions in the valley give them plenty of nesting sites, and they often move from stumps and wood piles into the house. Our carpenter ant treatment targets where they are actually nesting.
Can you treat older homes downtown?
Yes. Treatments are targeted to cracks, crevices and entry points, and our rodent program pairs bait stations with entry point recommendations.
Do you also serve Ancaster and Waterdown?
Yes. We serve Ancaster, Waterdown, Hamilton and Burlington.
